Prevention

The Selkirk Fire Department has a very active fire prevention program. Our biggest week of the year is the National Fire Prevention week in October, when department members, retirees, and Sparky the fire dog, visit all the local elementary schools, delivering fire prevention packages and giving presentations to over 2000 students a year.

The Fire Prevention program also consists of giving station tours to schools and organizations, visiting senior complexes yearly for prevention workshops, and assembling and distributing Safe Baby Packages for every baby born in Selkirk.
